Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 can (14 oz) cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 1/2 cup water (for cranberry layer)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Red and green sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix on medium speed for about two minutes until well blended.
  2. Pour batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and bake for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. While the cake cools, prepare the cranberry layer by heating cranberry sauce with 1/2 cup water and 1/4 cup sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until combined.
  4. Once the cake has cooled, poke holes evenly across the surface using a fork. Pour the cranberry mixture over the top to allow it to seep into the holes.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
  6. Before serving, spread whipped topping across the top and garnish with red and green sprinkles.
