  • 16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 15-ounce can pumpkin puree
  • 1 loaf Brioche or Challah bread, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter, plus extra for greasing
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, beat together eggs, cinnamon, pumpkin spice, vanilla, milk, pumpkin puree, and sweetened condensed milk.
  4. Grease a baking dish with melted butter and layer half of the bread slices at the bottom. Spread half of the cream cheese filling on top. Add the remaining bread slices followed by the rest of the filling.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layered bread evenly.
  6. For topping, mix melted butter, pecans, brown sugar, and salt in a small bowl and sprinkle over the casserole.
  7. Bake for approximately 40 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving with maple syrup and powdered sugar.
