  • 1 lemon (zest and juice of)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 4 cups granulated sugar

  1. Wash the oranges and lemon thoroughly under running water.
  2. Cut off the ends of the oranges, halve each orange, and cut into small pieces, discarding any seeds.
  3. Place the orange pieces in a food processor and pulse until finely chopped.
  4. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the chopped oranges, lemon zest and juice, water, and sugar; stir well.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a low boil while stirring frequently for 30-35 minutes until thickened.
  6. Test doneness by pouring a spoonful onto a cold plate; if it holds shape slightly without running easily, it’s ready.
  7. Pour the marmalade into sterilized jars or containers and cool at room temperature before storing.
