  • 3 tablespoons flour + more for tossing the biscuits
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 16.3 oz. refrigerated biscuit dough
  • Kosher salt
  • Fresh cracked pepper
  • Fresh chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté diced onion, sliced carrots, and celery until softened (about 8 minutes).
  3. Cut biscuit dough into 6 pieces and toss with flour.
  4. Add minced garlic and seasonings to the vegetables; stir well.
  5. Incorporate flour and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Deglaze with broth, scraping up flavorful bits from the bottom.
  7. Stir in shredded chicken, cream, peas, and bay leaves.
  8. Bring to a simmer while stirring occasionally.
  9. Add floured biscuit pieces on top of the soup without submerging them.
  10. Cover and simmer on low for 15 minutes or until dumplings are cooked through.
