  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • Red gel food coloring
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • White gel food coloring
  • 8 sturdy wooden sticks

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Insert wooden sticks into each apple.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Stir over medium heat until dissolved.
  3. Increase heat to high and boil without stirring until the syrup reaches 300°F (hard crack stage). Remove from heat.
  4. If using, stir in vanilla extract and add gel food coloring drops. Swirl gently for a marbled effect.
  5. Dip each apple into the candy syrup, allowing excess to drip off before placing on the prepared sheet.
  6. Let cool completely at room temperature until set.
