Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 8 ounces raspberries

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and 1 cup of granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously until sugar dissolves (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Blend raspberries with 2 tablespoons of sugar until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and set aside.
  3. Pour the cooled cream mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer's instructions until soft serve consistency is achieved.
  4. Divide the churned mixture in half, mixing one part with orange juice and food coloring for your desired hue, and the other with lime juice and green food coloring.
  5. Layer the mixtures starting with raspberry followed by lime then orange in a suitable container. Cover tightly and freeze for about 4-6 hours until firm.
