Homemade Crema di Limoncello is a delightfully creamy lemon liqueur that adds a refreshing touch to any gathering. Perfect for serving after meals, as a gift, or simply as an indulgence on a warm day, this sweet treat features a bright lemon flavor and velvety texture.

  • 10 fresh lemons
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) lemon juice
  • 8 cups half and half
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Using a vegetable peeler, remove long strips of peel from the lemons. Place the peels in a 2-quart pitcher.
  2. Pour lemon juice over the peels and cover with plastic wrap. Let it steep at room temperature for 3 to 4 days.
  3. In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, combine half and half, vanilla extract, and sugar. Stir frequently until sugar dissolves (about 5 minutes).
  4. Allow the mixture to cool completely before discarding the lemon peels.
  5. Mix the cooled syrup into the lemon base until well combined.
  6. Transfer to bottles, seal tightly, and refrigerate until cold or freeze for up to 3 months.
