  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, applesauce, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; whisk until evenly mixed.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. If desired, fold in dark chocolate chips for added richness.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
