  • ¾ cup warmed heavy cream

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 & ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 2 Regular Oreos (pulverized)
  • 3 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Begin by making the homemade caramel sauce: Combine sugar, water, and corn syrup in a saucepan. Heat until dissolved; increase heat until it reaches a deep amber color. Carefully stir in warmed heavy cream and let cool.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes. Allow cookies to cool before frosting.
  6. For the Oreo buttercream, beat together cream cheese and butter before slowly incorporating powdered sugar and pulverized Oreos.
  7. Once cooled, frost half of the cookies with buttercream, drizzle with caramel sauce, and top with another cookie.
