  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp chili crisp
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 6 green onions (thinly sliced; separate white and green bits)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce (plus more for serving)
  • 2 Tbsp white miso paste
  • 6 cups vegetable broth (or chicken broth)
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 lb frozen vegetable, chicken, or beef dumplings (mini wontons or potstickers)
  • 3 to 4 cups baby bok choy or bok choy
  • Toppings: fried onion, chili crisp, green onion, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chili crisp, the white parts of the green onion, ginger, and garlic. Cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Pour in soy sauce, vegetable broth, and rice vinegar. Bring to a boil then reduce to simmer for 4 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk white miso paste with some hot broth until smooth. Stir this back into the pot.
  4. Add frozen dumplings and simmer according to package instructions until cooked through.
  5. Stir in baby bok choy until wilted (about 1-2 minutes).
  6. Serve hot with toppings like fried onions, green onions, and sesame seeds.
