  • 1 liter milk
  • 600 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean

Instructions

  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly and use a vegetable peeler to remove the zest, avoiding the white pith.
  2. Place the lemon peel in a mason jar and add alcohol; seal tightly and let steep for 6 to 40 days in a cool, dark place.
  3. After steeping, strain the mixture through cheesecloth into a clean bottle.
  4. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, warm milk with sugar and vanilla until sugar dissolves completely; allow cooling to room temperature.
  5. Combine the cooled milk mixture with the infused alcohol and strain again if needed; store in the refrigerator or freezer.
