Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces sliced cremini mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup dry white apple vinegar
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging)

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create four thinner pieces. Season both sides with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat lightly with flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken pieces for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter along with the sliced mushrooms and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until the mushrooms release their moisture.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute before adding the white apple vinegar. Let it bubble for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.
  5. Mix in heavy cream until well combined, then return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for about 5 minutes until cooked through.
