Instructions

  1. Wash and prepare the crab apples by removing stems and cutting them in half.

  3. Mash the apples slightly with a potato masher and strain the mixture through double-layered cheesecloth for 2-3 hours.
  4. While straining, prepare jars by washing and sterilizing them in an oven at 200°F.
  5. Transfer the strained juice back to a clean pot, add sugar, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat until it reaches 220°F.
  6. Fill sterilized jars with jelly, seal them properly, and process in a pressure canner for 20 minutes.
  7. Allow jars to cool completely before storing.
