  • 11/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large apple, peeled and chopped
  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar for glaze
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan by greasing and dusting it with flour.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add half of the flour mixture and half of the milk; mix until just combined. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  6. In another bowl, combine chopped apples with brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, layer with half of the apple mixture, then swirl gently.
  8. Add remaining batter on top followed by the rest of the apple mixture; swirl lightly.
  9. Bake for about 45 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cool briefly before glazing with a mixture of confectioners' sugar, water, and cinnamon.
