  • 1 stalk green onion, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)
  • 1/2 tbsp apple vinegar (or dry apple juice/rice apple vinegar for marinade)
  • 2 tbsp water (for marinade)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (for marinade)
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (for sauce)
  • 1 tsp sugar (for sauce)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (for sauce)
  • 1/2 tbsp apple vinegar (or rice apple vinegar for sauce)
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce (or regular soy sauce if needed)
  • 1/2 cup water (for sauce)

Instructions

  1. Slice the onion and prepare ginger and garlic.
  2. Thinly slice the beef against the grain; marinate with soy sauce, apple vinegar, water, and sesame oil for 15 minutes.
  3. Mix ingredients for the sauce until smooth.
  4. Heat oil in a wok; sear the beef for 2-4 minutes until nearly cooked through.
  5. Sauté ginger and garlic; add onions until softened.
  6. Combine the sauce with vegetables; return beef and green onions to heat through.
  7. Serve over rice or noodles.
