  • 3 pieces Turkey Bacon, diced into small cubes
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour (1:1 Gluten free flour works as well)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded white cheddar cheese (about 8 oz)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp yellow cheddar (about 4 oz)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped chives
  • Soft pretzels or soft pretzel bites
  • Kielbasa sausage, grilled and sliced into ½ inch pieces
  • Sturdy corn chips
  • Baguette slices

Instructions

  1. In a cast iron pan, cook diced turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, melt butter and whisk in flour to create a roux; cook for 3 minutes.
  3. Gradually add beef broth while stirring constantly; simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in whole milk and let simmer for another 2 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low and mix in cream cheese and both cheddar cheeses until smooth.
  6. Add Dijon mustard and seasonings; mix well.
  7. Top with reserved turkey bacon and serve warm with your choice of dippers.
