  • 3 T unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 T melted butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, melt unsalted butter, then stir in apple cider and set aside to cool.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
  4. In another bowl, combine the cooled butter-cider mixture with granulated sugar and egg; whisk until smooth.
  5. Gently mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fill a greased donut pan with batter using a piping bag or spoon.
  7. Bake for about 7 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool for 1 minute before transferring to a rack.
  9. Dip each donut in melted butter then coat in cinnamon-sugar.
